I am writing in order to display my gratitude for the service we received after recently visiting G & C Tire and Auto. From the moment we walked in the front door, we experienced fantastic customer service. Thank you! In order to fully share our experience, I need to share some background information. We are a military family that moved to the VA area a year ago. My husband works at the Pentagon and most days his hours are so long that we never have a chance to see him. I am a stay at home to four beautiful children. Recently, our oldest son earned his driver license. It became clear, early on, that I would be the one tasked with finding him a used reliable car. My husband helped give advice and looked online at cars, but due to his work schedule could not spend time visiting car dealerships. Living this military life, I have learned to wear many hats. Most of them I enjoy wearing, but the thought of having to visit a used car dealership, negotiate a good price, and have the car inspected was overwhelming for me especially as a woman. I know it is common for woman to be taken advantage of in the automotive industry. After seeing many of my son’s friends handed brand new $30,000 cars from their parents, our son decided he want a used BMW. Despite our advice and advice from many friends and family against buying a BMW, he was adamant about purchasing one. He wanted a “nice” car. He worked all summer at Chick-fil-A saving every penny he could. We told him we would match what he saved. We had already given him a list of cars he could not purchase due to safety, high insurance, etc. Since he was paying half the price, we wanted him to have some say in his purchase. The morning came to inspect and test drive some cars. I prayed that morning that God would close the door to the BMW. I knew it was the wrong car for him. After spending a whole day looking, he found one at a used dealership. I agreed to get the car inspected remembering that sometimes life lessons have to be learned by experience and advice from complete strangers, and I knew this was the case for our son. I was willing to fork over the money for an inspection to hopefully close the door to the BMW. As we walked in the door to your business, we were greeted immediately. After explaining our reason for visiting, the gentleman asked my son if the BMW parked in the lot was the car we were planning on getting inspected. When we told him it was, the gentleman gently yet sternly told him it was not a good first car to purchase. I was so thankful that your employee was truthful right from the beginning. We still decided to go forward with the inspection, and your employee gave us a tour of your fantastic waiting room. We started our search for the car early in the morning, and it was now 2 p.m. We were tired and hungry and had a two hour wait ahead of us for the inspection. Your snack bar was a blessing to us. Your waiting room was comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and smelled so nice. I was truly in awe of how nice your customer service was. After an hour, we went to sit outside to get some fresh air, and the chairs out front were perfect to rest in. Jack greeted us at the two hour mark and asked us to walk back to the garage to see some of the concerns he discovered. He thoroughly showed us each and every problem he had overturned while inspecting the BMW. He began to share why the BMW was not a good starter car for our son. He shared his personal experiences with his own BMW, and gave my son a realistic view of what the future expenses in repairs would be down the road if he were to purchase one. Jack was a God send and an answer to my morning prayer. Obviously, my son was very disappointed that the car he had researched and looked at online all summer was not going to be the one going home with him. Although, he was thankful for such an honest inspection and opinion. Jack handled the situation perfectly. He took his time with us and was willing to answer any questions. Sometimes it takes a village to raise kids, and Jack was part of our village that day. He was exactly what we needed at the exact time we needed it. Thank you for such awesome service! I appreciate your employees honesty, which is difficult to find these days, and for a wonderful experience. I am thankful for your employees that were willing to speak truth to our son and help this mama out with a life lesson. I left your business with peace in my heart and a new found confidence that I can wear the hat of a used car purchaser without intimidation. Thank you again! Well done!
